Answering Islam - A Christian-Muslim dialog

  • Their Blood Cries Out

During August three stories made headline news: one highlighted the murder of ten Christian aid workers by the Taliban. Another tragic report indicated unprecedented numbers of humanitarian workers have been attacked or killed in recent years (60% increase from 2005-2009). The third story is very different – we glimpse a ray of hope as 50 Canadian Imams strongly denounce violence, upholding freedom & human rights for all, regardless of creed or colour...

  • Heartfelt Fasting and Repentance

Do Muslims and Christians agree that fasting, humility and contrition are closely linked? Is there fundamental agreement about 'heartfelt' fasting? As it is written in the book of Prophet Joel, "Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping and mourning. Don't tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead... for God is merciful and compassionate" (Joel 2:12,13)

  • Does Goodness Live In You?

Trying to live a good life is an unending and tiring job. We struggle to keep our bad deeds in check. We strive to do good deeds. It takes our full concentration and all our energy. What’s more, we don’t live in a neutral world. This world has temptations, demands, and hassles. It drains what little energy we have left to live as we know we should live. Does God understand our struggle? Will He overlook our weaknesses? Or does God want us to experience a different kind of life—one where we have the power to do what is right?

  • Loving God

If believing in one God is the 'backbone' of all monotheistic religions, what is the 'heart' of true worship? Wherein is the well spring that motivates godfearing people to have an ongoing friendship with God? What is the secret of being in love with God?

  • Forgiveness and Honour in the Bible and the Qur'an

Our sin dishonours God. When I sin, I choose something else as more valuable, more important than God. If I worship something that isn't God, such as money or fame, I am saying that these things are better and more attractive than God. If I commit sexual immorality of some kind, although God has clearly forbidden it, I am saying that the pleasure of that sin is better than the pleasure of obeying God. My disobedience treats God as if he is small, as if he is like dirt to be trampled on.
