DAVID
DAUD
DAWOOD

Ar: Da'ud.
Heb: David, Daviyd (). The Hebrew name means "beloved".

The second king of Israel, son of Jesse, and father of Solomon. King David wrote many psalms which are collected in the Bible. Islam maintains that Allah gave David the Psalms, which are believed to have been lost. Muslims, however, are unable to say what constitutes the Zabur, although some Muslims consider the Psalms in the Bible as the Zabur.
